Destination Europe

If anyone is looking for a excellent, hard working house keeper, let me know because my current femme de menage is looking for work. She is by far the best cleaner I’ve ever had and she seems to love ironing (which is amazing in itself) . Aside from always being 15-30 minutes late, I can’t [...]

I loved Cannes. F and I spent an afternoon there and I would really like to go back and explore the city a bit more. Yes, it’s very, very touristy but still fun and the beaches are much nicer than those in Antibes.

I didn’t really like Monte Carlo. Does anyone? It’s all very fake and uber wealthy. At least now I can say I’ve been there

It seems most Europeans take their holidays once a year, usually in August, head to the beach, lay in the sun for a couple of weeks, get burnt to a crisp, then return to the city showing off the ‘gorgeous’ tan. That is not my idea of a fun holiday. But this year I did [...]

Every morning was spent by the hotel pool, lunch was either by the pool or at one of the many restaurants around the town. The afternoons were spent exploring all the little streets and local shops. The evenings involved sipping [...]

The next free visit was to le Panthéon. While nowhere near as interesting as le Senat, le Panthéon is worth a quick visit. To be honest, it’s probably not worth paying to go inside so take the opportunity to visit either during les Journées du Patrimoine or on the first Sunday of the month when [...]

On the first day of les Journées du Patrimoine, I headed to the Palais du Luxembourg, the building which houses le Sénat. I had thought the queue was going to be huge but in the end it was only a 10 minutes wait to get inside.
The building, as to be expected, was beautiful and [...]

I love my Carte UGC Illimiteé! I hesitated getting one because you have to sign a 12 month contract and I’m always thinking I won’t be in France in 12 months. Of course, I’ll probably never leave Paris so about 6 months ago I got my card.
If you don’t know, the Carte UGC Illimiteé [...]
