Destination Europe

Helpful video posted by Jennie if you are interested in picking up more informal French expressions. I always use je m’en fous with F when he annoys me.

Whenever I hire a car in Paris I use Hertz, mainly because they usually offer unlimited kilometres and you can pay a little extra so you don’t have any insurance excess, which I like because I almost always end up denting or scratching the car.
I was about to book my hire car for my current [...]

Last time my parents were here, we spent 2 or 3 weeks driving around Germany, visiting most of the country’s biggest cities as well as many smaller cities and villages. The plan was to visit Budapest and Prague as well but it was a bit too much driving for them so we just stuck to [...]

Weather Update

Just when I thought it was going to start getting warmer, the exact opposite happened. The temperature has plummeted and it’s snowing again. It’s 3:30pm and it’s –1C. Ouch!
I guess I acted a little hastily when I put away the heater last week.

So much for baking my own bread. Every time I use my new bread machine a fuse blows and I’m left sitting in darkness. I’ve tried plugging the machine into different power points but still have the same problem. I’ve used other electrical items without incident but who knows what is going on.
It looks [...]

The great thing about the recent freezing weather was the snow that came with it. Unfortunately it only really snowed on one day and it didn’t last long on the ground. I had hoped it would snow again so I could go out and take lots of photos of Paris under the snow but it [...]

Christmas Day – the most boring and pointless day of the year.
I slept in until 1pm. Had cream cheese on baguette for lunch, washed down with a delicious glass of Redbull. Not much else to do but play tourist in the City of Lights.
The only mildly entertaining event of the day was seeing Le [...]
