   Hi

   Scouring internet for info on France as my husband, daughter (9) and myself want to go to France for year or two to work. Complicating factors: we are waaay over 30 (work visa not straight forward I think); while keen to learn we don’t French yet.

   Sorry if it completely inappropriate to ask for some tips but have enjoyed reading some of your blog.

   Hi Emer,

   Feel free to ask me any questions about living in France.

   If you want to get a work visa you’ll have to organise that at the French consulate before you arrive in France.

   As for learning French, a 6 month intensive French course when you arrive should get you up to speed but you can always take a class at Alliance Francaise in Nedlands to get started.
