French Open 2010 Tickets
If you didn’t know, tickets for the French Open 2010 went on sale today at 1pm. Well, they are supposed to be available but their website crashed at about 12:55pm and is currently still down. You can book (well, try to book) your tickets here.
This is for tickets to all the major courts. You can buy tickets for the outside courts at any time, there’s no rush for those tickets.
I haven’t been able to get through yet, hopefully the site will be back up shortly and I can get tickets.
Update: 2 and 1/2 hours later I got my tickets. I got 2 Cat 1 tickets for the 24th May and 2 Cat 2 tickets for the 25th May. These are the best days to go, imo, as you get to see lots of matches. I tried to get tickets for the finals but I couldn’t get decent seats and if I’m going to pay almost 500 euros for 2 tickets then I want to be able to see without a glass pane in front of me. Anyway, two days of matches should be enough tennis for me.

Hi there!i randomly came across your entry on the french open and coincidentally i’ve bought tickets for the 24th may too! I’ve a question hoping you can help me out cos I actually bought the tickets via the french website and i had a hard time since the language is totally foreign to me. I was just wondering did u choose to receive your tickets in the form of e-tickets or via courier post and have you received them? i opted for e-tickets and have yet to receive them. and if i’m not wrong, they will be mailing them out within a month but is that applicable to e-tickets as well since it can be done quickly online? Thanks in advance!
I think I got etickets too but they did say they were going to post them which is kind of weird seeing as they are etickets.
I haven’t received them yet but I’m sure they’ll be sent out in due course. I’ll post here when I get them but I’m not expecting them for a while.
thanks for the info andrea appreciate your help! (:
Hello!! Im a big tennis fan from Thailand and I try to book the tickets from the official website and tickets to the main court were sold out already. Any idea where I can buy the tickets?? Thank you in advance for your help.
If it’s sold out, the only way to get them is via the Ticket Exchange. This is where you can buy or sell official tickets.

I still haven’t received my tickets. Don’t know what is happening there
hey andrea
me too! i emailed them to ask when will they mail out the tickets and they actually told me they will start after mid-march?? but it’s almost mid-april in a few days! have u dropped them an email?
I haven’t emailed them, I just figured they are really disorganised, as with most things French!
I finally received my tickets today. They were sent via email and I just have to print them out.
Hope you received yours!
Hey Andrea,
yup i did! was gonna drop you a message here but you beat me to it
anyway, can I just check with you, all the tickets reflect the buyer’s name right? cos i bought 3 tickets and all i have to do is simply e-transfer the other two tickets to my friends’ names? so the ticket holder’s name will be reflected in the barcode according to the names stated online? thanks for your help yea!
I don’t think you have to do that. I think that’s only if you can’t make it and you want to give them to someone else. Provided you arrive at the gate with your friends, it’s fine if all the tickets are in your name.
That was my understanding of the email anyway
haha alright thanks! anyway, hope you have a good time at the french open! (:
Yeah, you too! Maybe I’ll see you there
Still waiting for my etickets. Glad to see Andrea got hers-maybe I’ll get mine soon.
I was under the impression they were all sent out at the same time. Maybe check your junk mail folder?
Has anyone order tickets from Viagogo? I just ordered 2 tickets (separate transactions – sitting apart) last night. This morning, I received the email from Viagogo requesting me sending a copy of a photo ID (this can be either a driving license or a passport). This doesn’t sound right or is this a normal procedure that they do? I’ve contacted my credit card company and the purchases were approved so I don’t understand why they need my ID. I found it to be very strange!!!
We are tennis fanatic fans… and thought we would try to get the official tickets from this website for our Europe trip. So far I don’t get a good vibe from them because of asking for my ID for ONLINE purchase.
Viagogo is the official website to buy tickets from so I would just go ahead send the ID.
I know it sounds weird to have to do that but it’s France, don’t expect them to know how the internet usually works.
Hey fellow french open goer, it looks like you were right. You have to transfer the e-billets into the names of the people you are going with.
What a pain!
haha yea they’re really quite troublesome. u enquired about it? i thought i’d just do it just in case they are very strict about it. but yea i guess better be safe than sorry! (:
I got an email from them today saying you have to do it. I don’t know why they complicate things so much
Hello
I purchased my tickets via viagogo and this morning,I received an email like this:
‘Your etickets purchased on Viagogo are available on Billetterie Roland-Garros 2010 in your client area.To login using your account …….’
So..this means I have my tickets already? And when I log in to my account..it says that my order is pending, and also has somebody’s email and mobile phone for my ticket order..Im so confusing.
Oh..Ive got my e-tickets already
Sorry for bothering guys..
It actually makes sense that they require us to update the name of beneficiary of the ticket online because the tix are sent to us via email. This is the reason I never buy e-tix to US open from ebay because many people could have bought the tix and whoever show up first at the gate will get through.
Anyway, I bought 3 tix from viagogo for Wednesday 26MAY in Suzanne court. How do I update the beneficiary name on viagogo?
How does that make sense? The original purchaser can change the name of the beneficiary at any time (before the day) so there is no point to it, unless you’re not arrive at the stadium together.
As for the eBay scenario, it wouldn’t be the first to arrive who gets in as you have to show ID which must match what they have on their database. Who would be stupid enough to buy tickets on eBay anyway?
It is not the original purchaser, it is the currect purchaser, so if you sell your tix on viagogo, the buyer will have the right to the tix, even though you are the original purchaser. This way, only one person is as the current owner (not beneficiary) of the tix. This is not what happens with US open. I went there multiple times and they never asked me for an ID, just the tix, so it would who first comes gets in.
Anyway, do you know how to change the beneficiary of the tix that you buy from viagogo? I can’t find any button to do so.
My comment about changing the tickets to the beneficiary name had nothing to do with those purchased on Viagogo but those who originally purchased tickets from the Roland Garros website. They have to change them into the beneficiary name for absolutely no reason.
I have never purchased tickets from Viagogo so don’t know how it works. Contact them if you have a question.
To change the beneficiary of the ticket, you go to http://www.billetterie.fft.fr then login and go to ‘my account’ then ‘transfer my eticket’. You will see the modify button. Hope this help.
Pannjung, you are correct, they link my viagogo transaction to my billetterie account. very good. thanks.
